Plan to go Skiing in 2022

Get Inspired!

Escape the beach this winter. The mountains are waiting!

Where: Visit North Carolina! With multiple ski resorts approximately 5 hours away from Myrtle Beach, you will have many options. Try Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Cataloochee, or Wolf Ridge! Or, visit West Virginia. Snowshoe Mountain is favorite amongst the Sail & Ski family!
When: February and March are great months to visit the mountains. Keep in mind, weekends are busy at the ski resorts! President’s weekend is one of the busiest. Plan ahead and accordingly.
Weather:  Be sure to keep an eye not only on weather conditions such as ice and snow, but also take a look at snow reports and mountain conditions! That way you’ll know which lifts and slopes are open.
Gear:  Pack layers! At Sail and Ski, we can never stress enough just how important it is to stay warm and have the proper attire. If you’re uncertain about packing the right equipment and clothing items, get in touch with us! Dry snow or wet snow? Fresh powder or man-made snow? These are just a couple factors we like to consider when picking out gear.

If you don’t own your own ski or snowboard equipment, renting is a great option for those who don’t hit the slopes often. Totally understandable for people like us living in Myrtle Beach!

We do, however, offer rental gear such as skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, and poles. Here’s how our rental rates compare to others.
